Bellwether Forum trains Mongolia's Democratic Party
Helped the Democratic Party to learn how to campaign on its ancient principles
Bellwether Forum Political Training
- Mongolia's Democratic Party
- May 21-22, 2007
- Ulaanbataar, Mongolia
The leadership of Mongolia’s freedom movement reflects a commitment to liberty, privatization, and market reforms; however, a symptom of decades of communist oppression is the lack of highly capable candidates and public policy leaders who have mastered political and campaign skills—particularly at the local and provincial levels—as well as the sound conservative philosophy that is necessary to govern a free nation effectively.
Mongolian conservatives faced the problem of being outflanked and outmaneuvered by the opposition, which brings the risk of Communists retaining power. More education and training is needed, to prevent a return to Mongolia’s repressed past. In short, Mongolia needs to develop a pool of current and future candidates who are highly capable and skilled, ready to implement the conservative philosophy that they understand and believe. Bellwether Forum’s Mongolia Political Seminar, which will took place May 21-22, 2007, in Ulaanbataar, Mongolia, was the first major step to that end.
